L.W.C. Michelsen is one of Germany's oldest fine food manufacturers — family-owned, independent, and based in Hamburg since 1814. We produce around 1,200 products and hold exclusive distribution rights for some of Britain's most distinguished food brands across Germany and Austria.

Christian Friedrich Michelsen founded this company in Hamburg in 1814. In 1912, Kaiser Wilhelm II appointed L.W.C. Michelsen as an Imperial Court Supplier — a recognition of quality that still defines how we work today.
Seven generations later, Jan Erik Peters runs the company with the same independence his predecessors had: no investors, no shareholders. Just a family that has been making fine food in Hamburg for over two centuries.

Our production facility in Hamburg-Hammerbrook manufactures around 1,200 fine food products — jams, honeys, confectionery, spirits, seasonings and specialities. Each developed with recipes this house has refined over generations.
Certified to FSSC 22000 for food safety, and carrying EU organic certification for our bio range. Private label production available with flexible minimum quantities.
